The DVD description on the back describes the double-length episodes as " the latest food craze to sweep Bikini Bottom, SpongeBob's search for a new job, and a mysterious goo battle." The production order in which these episodes come in the season are in fact backwards than the way they are mentioned. Vincent Waller on Twitter inquired about a Blu-ray version, but nothing about one has been said since. This DVD does not have the episode list or descriptions inside of the case, unlike all other previous season releases. Along with Complete Seventh Season, this DVD does not list the episodes by disc on the back. This is due to the season taking nearly five years to premiere all of its episodes. This DVD was released five years after the season it focuses on on premiered, making it the longest duration in SpongeBob history of a complete season DVD being released after the season premiered. This DVD has yet to be released in the Region 2 format. This is the first DVD released in Region 1 since Septemwhen The Adventures of SpongeBob SquarePants DVD was released in North America, meaning no new SpongeBob SquarePants DVDs had been released in Region 1 for two years. This is the last SpongeBob season DVD to have four discs. 
This is the first SpongeBob season DVD to show Paramount instead of Paramount DVD on the side of the DVD. " It Came from Goo Lagoon," " SpongeBob You're Fired," and " Goodbye, Krabby Patty?" are all counted as double-length episodes. The intro is still only included in the first episode on each disc and the credits for each episode are still lumped together which one can access from the main menu or at the end of the last episode on each disc. As always if they press Play All it plays all the episodes as one long title with multiple chapters for each episode. Each episode is still a single chapter each but if one were to choose a specific episode from the episode selection menu it plays both sister episodes as a single title with two separate chapters. However, each episode is listed separately from one another on the back of the box. For example, on the first disc, " Extreme Spots" and " Squirrel Record" are labeled together on the episode selection screen as "Extreme Spots/Squirrel Record" and only given one image, instead of being two separate episodes. From this season DVD and onward, unlike the others, this DVD pairs both sister episodes together as one single episode each instead of leaving them each two separate episodes.
